Stopped by this epic Bloomberg building designed by #fosterandpartners . It adds another scale to the streetscape. 2nd shock comes from its cost: £1.3 billion, which allowed creating the project's own R&D department within the architect's office. #30cannonstreet What thought to be a contemporary beauty turned out a listed II office building built in 1977 designed by Whinney, Son & Austen Hall. For a building to have such freshness after 40 years of completion, it retains something timeless. We have worked on many listed II buildings but hands down this is the most stunning and beautiful architecture in the City. Invited to the Royal College of Art for an for an exhibit called work in progress thanks to @yellow_lim . What caught my eyes first were these rigorous model studies on Bank of England designed by John Soane. It is an epic example of how london' s built environment grows in its own organic logic shaped by forces of development. (Refer to the grey model of aggregated buildings). It is a best example of how Londoners cherish their context and grow with it even at the scale of a whole block. Simply loving this Vault space....model by @yellow_lim.
