Walking Safari

The walking safari is the heart of the Skymind’s Organic Farm Resort.  The core philosophy is to bring animals and people on an equal ground and encourage a new type of social interaction.  No visible cages or enclosure exists in the Walking Safari, and everyone feels like walking through a natural forest where they happen to encounter the animals. Every architectural elements is as integrated and open as possible throughout the site.  Loose definition of “passage” is introduced to guide people through a narrative.  For instance, a user starts from an info tunnel to get a preview glimpse of what animals they may meet on the way.  Then you are guided to multiple zones animals at which “secret glade” establishes a safe form of play area for both human and animals.  Tree houses and Rope safari intermittently provides no time for boredom.  There are also Organic Fences at large scale along the main passage to increase the interaction and visibility of the animals.  The barns are embedded in the deep forest, and they occasionally provide another place for rest and play.  The “Pet City” is an area with small animals where young children can have an imaginative experience of walking through the animal’s own city. Also the horse riding track provides an alternative entertainment to the adults and children alike. Whether this Walking Safari experienced for the day or for the hour, it’s an exciting new typology unseen before in South Korea. 

워킹사파리는 하늘마음 오게닉팜의 심장과도 같다.  사람과 동물이, 누구 하나를 종속시키지 않고, 동등한 환경과 위치에서 서로 교류하는것이 워킹사파리를 디자인하고 체험하는 기본 철학 이다.   울타리와 우리를 없에고, 자연스런 숲속을 유유히 걸어다니며 동물을 우연히 만나는 느낌을 재현하고자 한다.   그렇기에 모든 오브제가 자연에 속한것처럼, 완전히 자연과 경계없이 오픈된것처럼 디자인되었다.  “산책로” 라는 느슨한 길이 이야기처럼 사람들을 이끌어간다.  인포터널이라는 오픈된 터널을 지나, 비밀 놀이터들에서 잠시 쉬어가면서 동물들과 다른 사람들과 한껏 놀아볼수 있는 기회를 모색해봤다.  간간히 트리하우스나 로프사파리등이 있어 23000 해배의 사파리가 지루할 곳이 한군데도 없다.  자연물로 이루어진 오게닉 울타리는 동물을 가두지 않고 사람들에게 가까이 접근할수 있는 가능성을 높여준다.  숲속 여기저기에 묻혀있는 축사들도 기존의 부대시설의 개념을 떠나, 사람과 동물이 안전한 환경안에서 교류할수 있고 또한 서로가 쉴수 있는 장소가 된다.   동물시티는 작은 스케일의 동물들이 자기들의 아기자기한 집에 아이들을 초대하여 놀이터가 되는 독특한 미니축사로 구현했다.  말농장안의 승마장은 어른과 어린이 가림 없이 같이 승마 또는 말과 걷기 즐기는 곳이다.  워킹사파리를 몇시간 걸어가든 며칠을 체험하든, 전례없는 경험과 잊지못할 추억을 만들수 있을것이다.
